Lighting of the Miami to Jacksonville airway completes a continuous lighted route from Florida to Seattle. The Aeronautics Division of the Commerce Department notes the four corners of the United States are now tied by lighted airways, enabling day and night flights and faster delivery of South American mail. The 3,422 mile route offers gaps of about 30 miles between beacons, with beacons every ten miles and landing places along the line. New England and Southern California are connected via lighted routes touching Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Des Moines, Chicago, Cleveland, New York and Boston.

Former Fayette County Detective Charged With Murder
Uniontown pa April 8. Approval of murder charges against Tony Bell former county detective and Glenn Allum of Washington pa was given this afternoon by Judges Thomas H Wudsey and S John Morrow. They were to be moved from Allegheny County Workhouse to the county jail. The charges relate to the murder of John Donohoe last July in an alleged rum conspiracy. Bell is serving a sentence for defrauding his landlord and Allum was serving two years on a squatters charge.

Pittsburgh April 8 Violence erupts as two Yellow Cabs are attacked during a strike attempt to reopen city wide taxi service by Parmelee Transportation. A brick shower shattered a cab, driver injured, another cab attacked with 12 assailants beating the driver. Passenger uninjured. Street patrol arrived as assailants fled.
