Holmes Safety Unit To Receive State Banner
The Indiana Council Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association will host its annual banquet April 26 at Indiana First Methodist Church. Death Claims War Veteran Rosensteel
David Rosensteel, son of County Commissioner Lloyd C. Rosensteel of Elders Ridge, died at Indiana Hospital at 3:00 pm on Saturday April 2, 1949. Born March 22, 1914 in Elders Ridge, he spent his life in Indiana County and served in the Army from June 25, 1942, with basic training at Fort Meade. The commissioners office will close tomorrow afternoon for his funeral.

Brush Valley Girl Killed in New Jersey Car Crash
Miss Mildred E. Morgan, 24, of Brush Valley, was killed in a Saturday auto mobile crash in Wall Township, New Jersey. She taught at Nanasquan, New Jersey, and died instantly according to Associated Press. Five others in the same car were injured, two in the other vehicle. Morgan was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College.

Harry Joseph Bridenthall of Shelocta R D 3 died in the Indiana Hospital yesterday from a skull fracture after sustaining injuries in a Wednesday auto accident on Route 0 near Saltsburg.
