State Highway Patrol warns Indiana County drivers that most crashes stem from carelessness. In three months 51 accidents logged, with January nine, February eighteen, March twenty four. Last weekend a woman driver crashed over B. and C. tracks injuring two in Cleveland visitors.
In Warren Ohio on April 2 a mother Isabel Hunter 23 killed her four year old Harold then shot herself in their home. Harold died in hospital, Isabel died at the scene, a two year old daughter Doris slept unharmed in a crib. Clifford Hunter husband and father told police he could not explain why.
Wastington April 3 The March financial figures show paper money in circulation rising by 280 million dollars while gold and gold certificates outstanding fell by about 700 thousand dollars. Reserve banks boosted federal reserve notes by 197 million to 4 047 072 000 on March 31 as bank holidays pressured liquidity.
The Willam Penn Council and Indiana Evening Gazette announce the Bird House Contest likely the largest in eight years. Scouts across the Council plan construction, withDemand for pamphlets rising, promising many participants. In Johnstown on April 3, Mayor Nddie McCloskey asks how one can be legally drunk on beer that is not intoxicating locally. He notes a man arrested for intoxication might claim he drank legal brew and have the judge rule physically drunk, legally sober, case dismissed.
Harrisburg April 3 Strife torn legislature faces a week of heated votes on beer control old age pensions and state government reorganization. The Turner bill aims to save 10 million in the biennium as the House and Senate reconvene with prospects of final action on the Sowers Conner beer bill Sunday baseball and related measures likely to shift to later in the week amid opposition and possible floor amendments.
Harrisburg April 3 Conditional approval was given by the Public Service Commission to West Penn Power Company and Bell Telephone Company for joint use of poles across 16 central and western counties. Final approval awaits a 30 day period after formal filings to local authorities.

William D. Hamilton a Pittsburgh born businessman and former president of the National Casket Company died in his Hotel Sehenley apartment. He was an early University of Pittsburgh student and later led Chappel Chase Maxwell Co before becoming company president. He was a church trustee and member of several clubs, survived by his widow Caroline and a sister in Pasadena. Funeral at Christ Methodist Episcopal Church, Pittsburgh, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Fresh legal moves were planned in Phoenix to save Winnie Ruth Judd the so called double trunk murderess from execution on April 21 A jury convicted Judd of killing Agnes Anne Leroi The bodies of Leroi and Hedvig Samuelson were shipped in trunks from Phoenix to Los Angeles Her attorney sought a 60 day reprieve and planned a motion to set aside the jury verdict on grounds of prejudice in Superior Court Judge Howard Speakman’s district
Paris reports that rumors of finding skeletons of Charles Nungesser and Francois Coli in Newfoundland were denied by the governor of St Pierre and Miquelon. The cables labeled the claims absolutely unfounded, despite French sailors delivering the tale from St Pierre and Miquelon.
Cannes France April 3 Hetty Compson former musical comedy actress angrily denied reports she cabled to the United States that she would marry former New York Mayor James J. Walker this afternoon. She said I never called to anyone and have no idea what it is all about.
Police report thieves invaded the Star Job Ling Company in Pittsburgh on April 3 and stole a half ton safe containing 1500 dollars in cash. They also took a one ton truck to haul the loot away.
Philadelphia April report says the $1 weekly compensation premium for relief workers may not be reduced. Jno A Dailey head of the State Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau notes the rate retroactive to January 1 has paralyzed relief employment in many counties. He cites 65 percent of wages under a five and half day week and about $4 per day under the stagger system as the current framework.
Emilia Tersini, a 28 year old London waitress, was awarded about 14 280 in damages in a breach of promise suit against Primo Carnera. A jury granted 4 200 pounds sterling after Justice Branson backed the verdict. Lawyer W Monckton said Carnera promised marriage after visiting the United States at Christmas 1924 but delayed. The Diabolical Circle play by the DAR is set for April 4 at 8 pm in the Methodist Social Hall, with an admission fee.
Four influential Jewish organizations in Paris announced a general boycott on German goods until Jews in Germany regain full rights. Clair Irwin of Stafford formerly a Green Township constable is in serious condition at Indiana Hospital. He had recently returned home, but after four weeks at home re-entered the hospital. Frank Porter of town, critically ill with pneumonia, is slowly improving and expected to recover. Agnes Stadtmiller of town was seriously injured when struck by a car on Philadelphia Street, suffering a fractured right leg and broken ribs. John G. Adamson of Hon underwent a minor operation and is healing well.
