Merle George Henry, a 29 year old fugitive from Marion Ohio, was arrested Friday afternoon at the District Justice office in Clymer. Indiana State Police said they were investigating gasoline theft in the area when Henry was apprehended under a warrant from the Marion Correctional Institution. He is jailed in Indiana County pending arrival of Ohio authorities. Henry had walked away from the Ohio facility on August 21, 1971 where he was serving ten years to life for second degree murder.

Indiana Borough police probe a 1971 Suzuki motorcycle theft from Donald T. Gerber Indiana. The bike vanished from Philadelphia Street near Sixth Street after 9:30 p m Wednesday with key and helmet in hand.
The Civil Service Employes Association ordered a midnight strike by 140,000 New York state workers after rejecting a late state contract offer. Picket lines formed at mental health facilities and Elmira prison complexes, with guards potentially honoring lines. A showcause order sought to block the strike but was served at CSEA headquarters late Friday.
Mary Jane Lingelbach a 1969 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and daughter of Guy and Mrs. Lohr of Latrobe RD 4 was found strangled at her Lehigh County home yesterday. Her husband Peter Lingelbach 27 a VISTA worker was named in the report as involved.
