A five story Yale student building, the Hatchingon in New Haven Conn, caught fire shortly before noon Saturday. Eugene Gale Winslow from Punxsutawney Pa was rescued from the fifth floor window after firefighters used an aerial ladder. He escaped with singed hair and clothing and was hospitalized. The building, valued at 76000 dollars, is expected to suffer near total loss with all rooms occupied and richly furnished.
