Giving Up Gas Field Near Richmond
The Mahoning Gas Company, once leasing thousands of acres near Richmond and drilling five wells, plans abandonment. Leases folded back to landowners as casing is pulled. The principal well above Richmond was drowned, water intrusion defeated gas flow before, and though Enterprise and Tyger wells remain, output is not enough to justify selling gas.

County Committee Chooses Krytzer Leader and Officials
The Democratic County Committee met at the Court House with a bare quorum of seventeen. David W. Krytzer was elected chairman for the ensuing year, Harry W. Fee and Frank fi Gyoft of Indiana were named secretaries, and John W. Stewart was chosen treasurer. James B. Kaufmann of Center township was nominated for Assembly, the only ticket vacancy. Former Treasurer Jo. Wood Clark was absent, but it was understood about four hundred dollars remained in the treasury. Indiana Normal defeated California State Normal 4 to 3 in ten innings, aided by Martin’s single and Galley’s triple after a wet field hampered play. Captain Jimmy Pierce held California to five hits. Gabler allowed Indiana to score in a game where the innings showed the uneven weather and late effort.
