Community supper raises funds at corner store room event
A Thursday evening feed at the corner of Philadelphia Street and Carpenter Avenue fed four hundred people by 8 30 pm. A jolly crowd enjoyed chicken and waffles with tables of silverware and smiling waiters while women in the adjoining room washed dishes brewed coffee baked waffles and served for a quarter. A total of $140 was cleared for the repair fund and thanks were extended to visiting church friends and families who attended.
