Captain Wheelock and engineers arrived in Warren to survey a feeder from Cherry Run toward Jacksonville. The plan may connect with the Indiana branch of the Pennsylvania system, with coal traffic possibly bypassing the B R & P line. Wehrum mines expect resumed coal operations in a few weeks, producing coal for shipment. The Northern Cambria Street Railway directors elected include Rembrandt Peale and W H Denlinger, aiming to build a trolley line from Patton to Carrolltown this year, and freight yards are planned along the Indiana branch of the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh railway with land acquired for yards and stations.

Fatal Train Collision Across Swiftly Moving Crossing
Samuel A Blue of Chambersville died after a sleigh drawn by a horse was struck by a passenger train on the BL BR. & P. line near Kimmel's Crossing between Chambersville and Kellysbury. Claude Blue survived. Samuel died en route to Ernest. Coroner M M Davie led an inquest finding no engineer negligence and calling for better crossing visibility and louder warnings. The jury noted the crossing as dangerous due to a curve, cut, road width, and lumber piles obstructing view. The funeral was held at Washington church. Dead at 33, he left a wife, three children, and parents with four sisters.

Leonard Hall Dedicated at Indiana Normal School
Leonard Hall will be dedicated Thursday evening by a large county gathering honoring Miss Jane Jr. Leonard, the preceptress, for whom the hall is named. Beginning next Tuesday all accidents at the Indiana Normal School will be recited in the new hall. The two story Spanish Mission building measures 131 by 120 feet with a finished basement and includes twenty five rooms such as study hall laboratory manual training and commercial departments. Designed by W. J. Shaw of Pittsburgh the hall’s contractor was A. mer Lockard. Building committee members were Jed Grifich Illiv Warry W. Wilson Edward Rowe John Fisher and J. Wood Clark. A memorial window from the class of 1893 depicts a Greek scene with a woman holding the lamp of knowledge. The window, designed by Rudy Brog of Pittsburgh, overlooks the stair and first floor.
