An eighty five year old hunter from Central Park New York named John D Seaman is cited as the most active gunner of his age in Long Island and New York. He will be sixty six next August and remains spry claiming thirteen shots and ten kills this year. He notes feet trouble in swamps but credits no glasses and pride in his long career. He is brother to Charles Seaman formerly of Center township.
Harrisburg Jan 29 The Pennsylvania legislature will consider a bill extending terms of about 30,000 local elected officials to beyond a year to January of even-numbered years. The measure fixes January first as the start date for successors and covers mayors burgesses councilmen judges and county officers. It aims to avoid hiatus between election and seating and details extensions for many offices through 1919 with several named judges and officials affected.
W Hayes of the Columbia Independent recalls party discord from 1896 to 1910. He argues true Democrats oppose reorganization led by Washington coteries and Vance McCormick. He notes Parker and Bryanites betrayed the party in 1910 and urges careful scrutiny of committee loyalties at the April State Committee meeting.

Harvey Van Asdlen Metropolis Hotel owner died in Ebensburg from dropsy. A son George attends Indiana Normal School. Funeral services held for several at local churches.
Dora O Cameron infant daughter of Mr and Mrs BE I Cameron of Penn Run died suddenly of pneumonia on Thursday last at age two and a half. Funeral was held Saturday with interment in Lutheran cemetery at Brushyalley.
Dominick Bulgaro a Pittsburg jewelry dealer was arrested for selling bogus Italian military exemption papers at 129 dollars each to Italian residents in Indiana and adjoining counties. Gateno Di Feo of Hazlewood was later arrested on the same charge. Over 200 Italians are said to have been victimized, with more than 20 000 dollars in extorted revenue. The scheme followed an Italian government order urging foreigners to obtain exemption papers or return to Italy. The pair marketed the falsified documents for about a year before capture.
