Ernest Strike Shuts Down Mine Over Wage Scale
Miners at Ernest, Itallang district went on strike Tuesday night. Five deputies were summoned after the sheriff received a telephone call and headed to the scene around eight o'clock. The dispute centers on the wage scale and halted entry for other workers this morning.

Auditors to Review Bridge Repair Bills in County Sessions

Injured In Gas Explosion At Local Home
Miss Alice Gailey of this place suffered severe burns to her face and hands in a gas explosion last week. She had traveled to Pittsburg to study nursing at the Pagsavant Hospital. A gas pipe leak in her room prompted her and a roommate to try repairs, and a lighted match caused the blast.

Prof A C Gordon principal of Shady avenue school Allegheny filed libel information against Editor John H Urescher of the Jeannette Dispatch. Tumbled Down Mountain Side At Packsaddle Curve

Robert Mitchell, driver for Herrick s and Wilson’s Indiana Roller Mills, fell into a mill basement grind shaft. His clothing snagged on a set screw and spun around the shaft, tearing his garments and badly injuring him. He was taken home. doctors reported multiple contusions and several broken ribs.
