Two squares of figured silk are sewn face to face with a felled seam. A corner is cut and turned right side out to form a bag. Edges folded over a small embroidery hoop are sewn down. The corner scrap becomes a cotton filled cushion bound with tape, attached near the opening to hold hosiery awaiting darning.
A detailed description explains a heavy unbleached linen cover for a phone list. It measures about six by twelve inches, edged with black buttonhole stitching, has four eyelet holes, a red floral spray, and a black outlined border with "Phone Calls." A tablet inside bears names and numbers, tied with narrow red ribbon to form hangers for suspending the record.
