Lagun a Niguel Rockwell plant idle three years
The 25 million Rockwell International aerospace facility in Laguna Niguel has sat empty for three years. Surrounded by parking for 7,500 workers who never came, the seven story pyramid shaped building covers one million square feet on 91 acres. Rockwell sought buyers, then negotiated a trade with the federal government via the GSA to swap for surplus Defense Department property in Los Angeles County. The House committee delays hinge on staff questions about agency occupancy and expenditures, while the Senate approved the trade earlier.
