Court, jail, and quirky notes from daily life
A Raleigh city court sentenced 61-year-old William Jones to 30 days in jail with a suspended term and a 190 fine for operating a mule and wagon while intoxicated. Meanwhile Norman Klingelsen in Manitowoc County got a church visit, then a drunken return from devotions. Danville’s Willie Perrow paid his fine but escaped custody to end with a 90-day sentence. A trio of 17-year-olds in Grand Rapids faced fines for riding in a non passenger area of a foreign car after an alcohol incident. The Archbishop of Canterbury calls a husband’s undisclosed earnings a traitor at home, urging joint financial transparency. And in East Lansing, Igor the iguana reappears after escaping from a fraternity.
