Judge orders life saving surgery for Dee Anne Zacher

In Sacramento a juvenile court judge ordered immediate surgery for 6 year old Dee Anne Zacher despite Jehovah's Witnesses objections to blood transfusions. The judge urged surgeons to avoid transfusions unless needed to prevent brain injury or save her life and ordered the child returned to Sacramento Hospital for the operation after a bicycle accident on Sept 2 caused a hip fracture.
