Khrushchev Intervenes in Lithuanian Family Plea
In Des Moines a Lithuanian couple asks Soviet Premier Khrushchev to reunite them with their children, Rezina and Tomas, living in Chicago with grandparents since 1944. Khrushchev directs Foreign Minister Gromyko to arrange the matter as the leader listens closely to their plea. Mr and Mrs Leonas had previously appealed to Stevenson and Nixon.

Hoffa Eyes AFL-CIO Return for Teamsters
James R. Hoffa said he would seek reentry of the 1.634 million member Teamsters into the AFL-CIO only if the union remains autonomous. He spoke after meeting pension fund trustees and at a Peachtree Street motel, asserting pension funds, real estate investments, and union autonomy justify a national reintegration, though charges of corruption loom over the union.
