Accused in Morris Jail Escape Names in Court Filing
Gulfport Mississippi prosecutors filed charges naming Aden Bellew and Ruth Johnson among others for aiding the jail escape of cowboy Dale Morris from Harrison County jail. The affidavit lists Douglas Thomas and Johnny Bower as aiding actors, with Johnson supplying bolt cutters and Brewer driving Morris away. Morris was recaptured in Long Beach and later pled guilty to a reduced manslaughter sentence of 12 years.
