House cuts federal limo fleet amid energy package

The House voted 41 to 15 to slash chauffeured federal limousines from about 800 to roughly 27 as part of an energy-conservation package. The amendment, by Rep. Mark Hannaford and Rep. Jim Santini, also caps executive use and limits drivers to top officials, with exceptions for the President and other key leaders.
