Modesty case drafts man after pants off incident
A San Francisco draft board deemed Mark Jacobs ineligible after he refused to remove his pants for a physical. His attorney argued he weighed 129 pounds for height, two pounds over limit, with pants and gear on, and 124.5 pounds without them. Judge Albert C. Wollenberg questioned the need to strip and ruled him ineligible. Meanwhile New York Mayor John Lindsey proposed near ban on handgun production and possession, seeking broader action than a prior bill targeting cheap “Saturday night specials.”
