Cadillac Restyled for 1969 Models Unveiled
Cadillac announces a major restyle for 1969 with new front end design, interior updates, and safety enhancements. Eleven models in Calais De Ville and Fleetwood will go on sale September 26 with the 472 cubic inch V eight producing 375 horsepower and 525 foot pounds of torque.

Side-Rails Urged for Autos by Federal Safety Chief
Dr. William Haddon Jr. urged built in side impact bars for all cars as soon as possible. He called them an important development and noted lateral crash fatalities are higher than frontal or rear crashes. Most 1969 GM models will have the bars. other makers have not announced plans.
