Pawtucket teachers halted by court order to end strike
A Rhode Island superior court halted a strike by Pawtucket’s more than 400 teachers. Judge Frost set 10 am today for decree entrance, warning that ongoing stoppage endangers 10,000 pupils in an industrial city of 83,000. Union leaders planned to seek an appeal as negotiations stalled.
