In Pomona a 29 year old woman, Polly Ayala, admitted for 12 hours that her foster daughter, 8, killed her husband Everett Ayala, 28, in their home during a quarrel. The child told police she acted because Mommy told her to and then said Ayala handed her the rifle to shoot him. Ayala was pronounced dead at a hospital.

A 50 year old construction worker Harry Henry Hall, 2197 Chestnut Ave, was killed when he fell from scaffolding beneath the Ford Ave bridge into the Los Cerritos Flood Control Channel. He was pronounced dead at Seaside Hospital at 2:53 p.m. and the body sent to Sheelar McFadyen Mortuary. Hall worked for Eichley Corp of Wilmington.
