Lifeline utility bill gains final Assembly approval
The Assembly approved Senate amendments on a lifeline measure to cap electricity and natural gas prices for household use. On a 50 to 8 vote, the bill by Assemblyman John J. Miller would let the Public Utilities Commission set subsistence levels and offset lower rates with higher charges on other utility services. Miller cited broad senior citizen support from across the state.
