Baby eaten by dog shocks New York scene
Police in Spanish Harlem found a four month old infant dead after being fed to a starving dog. Mother Joanne Bashold, who had given birth Sept 1, left the child with the animal while she went to Bellevue Hospital for belongings. She was questioned for criminal negligence as officers described the tenement’s dire conditions and the dog was taken to the ASPCA.
