Youth Nabbed in Chase Ends Damaging Patrol Cars
A 17 year old Angheim boy was arrested after a 12 mile high speed pursuit that involved Placentia and Anaheim police. The youth rammed a squad car and both agencies reported minimal damage to their patrol units. The chase crossed Orangethorpe Avenue and Fullerton State College area before the suspect crashed into a fence near Alberta Street. The suspect was jailed on suspicion with no injuries reported to officers.

Balboa resident Ray Thompson, 427 E Balboa, died at Hoag Memorial Hospital after a street collision at 8 10 a m. He was hurt in an assault with a deadly weapon and police reported possession of a switchblade and suspicion of auto theft. He never regained consciousness.

Lakewood Day at Fair Is Sept. 28
Police said charges will be filed after conferences with county juvenile authorities for 16 year old Richard Haley of Tustin following a crash in Lakewood. Haley was not injured. The Greater Lakewood Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a special bus for Lakewood residents on Lakewood Day at the Los Angeles County Fair on Sept. 28. Miss Lakewood, Nancy Allsup, and her court will reign over day-long activities with Lakewood Junior Chamber members staffing the booth during the two-week fair period.

Police raid targets drug parties in Costa Mesa and Avalon
Police arrested 24 adults and five juveniles Monday in Costa Mesa and Avalon on narcotics charges after raids.
