Federal safety standards set for on road autos
Washington The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced first ever federal safety standards for on road vehicles. Standards cover brakes steering suspension tires wheels and apply to vehicles under 10 000 pounds. States may adopt or risk 1 percent of federal highway funding.
