Jailed After Bungled Compton Robbery Ends in Shootout
Three suspects were jailed in Compton after a bungled robbery at a catering firm ended with a manager's beating and gunfire. A fourth suspect remained sought as Sgt Jobe pursued the bandits in a chase that spanned miles, with a Brink's truck decoy and a shotgun used during the failed operation. Police credited the sergeant's intervention and a witness account leading to arrests of Eddie Caldwell, Robert Crosby, and a woman passenger, while another man and a wife were later taken into custody.
