This recipe preserves ripe peaches using a cider vinegar syrup with mixed pickling spice. peaches are peeled blanched then simmered in a spice vinegar sugar lemon mix before packing hot into sterilized jars and processing in a water bath.
Recipe provides stuffed swiss steak with rice celery onion and poultry seasoning. Cut pockets in round steaks fill with rice mix, bake in tomato sauce and beef bouillon with Worcestershire for about two hours serving six.
Recipe instructions describe mixing 3 tablespoons butter with honey and pecans, halved English muffins toasted, split sides spread with honey butter, then broiled 2 to 3 inches from heat until bubbly and lightly browned for about 3 minutes. Serves 4.
Trim celery into ribs then 3 inch pieces. Cook bacon until crisp and crumble. In bacon drippings simmer celery with onion carrot and broth seasoned to taste until tender crisp about 8 minutes. Return bacon to dish and serve. yields 4.
