Vault machine in action at Bank of America structure
Alex Bates designed a vault-placement machine and activates it in a $252000 Bank of America building on 4th Street between Pine and Locust Aves. The 1500 pound device positions a 6 ton vault door like a puzzle piece. It aims to reduce injuries after two workers died elsewhere in May and has been used 16 times without a man being hurt.
