LeMay says U.S. could win Vietnam quickly if determined
Gen. Curtis LeMay urged that the United States must not appear to seek victory in Vietnam, claiming Washington has been blocked from winning. He defended negotiations while warning the U.S. is at war with communism and cited a NSC study claiming the U.S. is losing ground, with curves crossing in 1968. He also opposed nuclear options and supported Haiphong harbor closure as part of a broader strategy.
