IBEW OKs secret ballot strike at Pacific Coast Shipbuilders
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers authorized a strike by Pacific Coast locals in Seattle Portland Tacoma San Francisco Oakland and Martinez arguing wages and other costs. Negotiations began June 7 1966 and were broken off October 17 in San Francisco. The strike appears likely unless the shipbuilders submit a new offer with support from metal trades councils and building trades groups.

Parade to Honor War Veterans in Orange County
Orange County officials told Thursday that a Santa Ana parade honoring war veterans will not be on Veterans Day as earlier announced. Parade chairman Drew J. Callenan said it will be Sunday November 13 at 2 pm starting from Fashion Square with assembly in a parking lot and marching south on Main Street to First Street. The event will feature members from parishioner and veterans groups and is the first such parade since 1842, Callenan said.
