PLO inclusion urged for Geneva peace talks by Saudi leader
Saudi Foreign Minister Saad al-Paisal told President Carter at the White House that the Palestine Liberation Organization must be included in a Geneva peace conference to advance peace. The White House said differences over procedure should not block negotiations on substance. Carter pressed energy plans, while a Saudi prince urged price stability amid talks on Middle East peace and oil concerns. Secretary Cyrus Vance, standing nearby, indicated progress in overcoming obstacles to restart substantive negotiations.
