Luxury liner France to become floating hotel site eyed by Saudi buyer

Paris AP reports the luxury liner France, once a symbol of national prestige, has been rescued from mothballing as a floating hotel. Ojjeh’s group may place it in North America or the Middle East, with Florida a likely U.S. location. The ship, retired in 1974 due to rising oil costs, could reopen under French management with French cuisine and expanded boutique space.
