Transsexual surgery debate stalls at Baptist Oklahoma
A report from Oklahoma City details the controversy over sex change operations at Baptist Medical Center and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. After decades of patient advocacy and evolving social understanding, the convention voted to halt surgeries, affecting patients like Carol and Linda who pursued gender-confirming procedures and medical teams seeking to aid them. The piece notes ongoing counseling and the foundation's push to open facilities for further evaluations while clinics reassess options.

Great Brewster Chair hoax shocks Dearborn museum
The Great Brewster Chair, bought for 9000 dollars as a Pilgrim relic, turned out to be a 1969 fake by Rhode Island woodcarver Armand LaMontagne. Museum officials and dealer Roger Bacon faced anger and disbelief as the chair is now stored away.
