Crackdown Raises Marijuana Prices 100 Percent
The U.S. crackdown on Mexican marijuana along the border reduced supplies in major cities and raised prices up to 100 percent. Officials cited shortages in New York City Chicago and several other hubs with some markets reporting doubled cigarette prices in New York.

Mexican map points to bodies of Texas couple killed on vacation
U.S. Navy deserter Phillip Lee Sumarkoff and accomplice Elsa Neven Barrow are jailed after authorities traced a map to the remote Tepic area where Hilario Flores Aguilar 44 and Maria 38 were found shot to death. The couple from Laredo were en route home when ambushed October 5. Sumarkoff, an ex aerographer's mate, fled from the Monterey area with Barrow after the slayings and the two were arrested in a Tijuana motel. Lanza, 72, a retired San Diego deputy, was killed September near Tecate and linked to the case through a car and papers recovered from Sumarkoff.
