Simon calls for unity of free market freaks
Washington AP reports Treasury Secretary William E. Simon urged free market advocates to unite as he and two cabinet colleagues testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on foreign policy choices for the coming decade. Earl Butz and Rogers Morton argued for limited export controls and the growing role of agricultural and petro power in global development. Morton warned against export controls undermining U.S. reliability as a supplier while Butz predicted agri power may outpace petro power in influence.
