Second Meningitis Death At Ft Ord In 15 Days
A private from Tucson becomes the second Ft Ord soldier to die of meningitis in 15 days. Pvt. Robert R. Peel, 19, died at the Ft Ord Hospital Monday morning less than 24 hours after admission while in basic training. The base has had seven meningitis cases this year among 28,600 soldiers, with no other current cases and ongoing precautions.
