Hahn seeks public access to juvenile murder trials in LA
Los Angeles Supervisor Kenneth Hahn urged state action to open juvenile murder trials to the public and to publish the names of convicted juvenile murderers. He proposed televised murder trials as a pilot, cited an 8.5 percent rise in LA murders in nine months, and criticized the Youth Authority sentence length. The board ordered County Counsel to study the recommendations and report in 60 days.
