Million Dollar Theft Shocks Los Angeles Suburb

A burglar struck a retired stock broker’s Bel-Air apartment stealing a safe containing about 3 million dollars in cash and securities. Investigators said the haul would be among the largest in U.S. crime history, with many high value items described though some figures remain uncertain. The incident parallels infamous past heists as authorities search for suspects and assess how the intruder gained entry.
