AFL-CIO team urges UFW funds for farm labor battles
An AFL-CIO testing team proposed that AFL-CIO finances be made available to the United Farm Workers to fight the Teamsters in elections under a new state law. They noted intimidation and alleged collusion between Teamsters and growers, and cited a Stockton field incident with shotguns. The group supported the farm labor law and noted 110 UFW wins to 86 for the Teamsters in AP tallies.
