Americans Executed by Castro
The Santiago court spared two Cuban members of the invading band, Juan Gonzalez and Angel Rivero, sentencing them to 50 years in prison. Defense counsel Jorge Chery appealed for lives. Fuller testified he fled Korea with U.S. Marines, joined the invaders, and said peasants aided the group. Fuller’s mother sought permission to retrieve his body for burial in Holguin, denied by Cuban authorities.
