Warren Commission Collapse Claim Sparks CIA Inquiry
Senator Schweiker said the Warren Commission report on Kennedy's assassination is near collapse and that his Senate subcommittee is probing three conspiracy theories. He cited a possible Communist plot from Cuba or the Soviet Union, a US rightwing conspiracy, or anti-Castro Cuban anger as factors, while noting FBI document destruction and a memo about another Oswald. He urged stronger covert operations laws and a unified intelligence budget.
