Pancho Barnes A Pioneer In Flying And Life Of Riches
Pancho Barnes, born Florence Lowe, defies norms from luxury to a desert riding club founder, barnstormer, and pilot. Her family roots trace to balloon pioneer grandfather Thaddeus Lowe, shaping a life of risks and groundbreaking flights including early women’s races and the Powder Puff Derby. Her marriage to Episcopal minister C Rankin Barnes ended amid scandal as she pursued aviation and adventure.
