Long Beach arson suspect trapped as three fires flare in alley
Police arrested Jimmy Ray Petty after he allegedly started three fires behind Manning's Coffee Shop and Columbia department store and a fourth blaze in an alley. Fire crews extinguished the flames near Pine Avenue and Pacific Avenue with no serious damage reported. Petty, 27, was booked on arson and carrying a knife after officers found a swivel blade in his jacket. he claimed he had been trying to get even.
