Unitarian Church starts a Musician of the Month series on October 16 at 10 20 am. Dr. Bert Ram McGarity of Long Beach State College will conduct a 5 piece string ensemble performing Bach Branden burg Concerto No 3 and David Diamond Bound for String Orchestra. The programs honor local musicians.

Smith on Cedar Ave for the 63rd wedding anniversary dinner of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Alva Thurlow Brown who wed in Canton in 1895 and have lived in California since 1904. Attending were their daughters Mrs. Helen Drake and Mrs. Arthur Budd with spouses and several Long Beach residents.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Miller of Long Beach announce the engagement of their daughter Nancy Lee Miller to John Wilson Lamason son of Mr and Mrs John Lamason of Lakewood. The wedding is set for November 19 at First Methodist Church. Miller is a Poly High School graduate Lamason attended Fullerton Junior College as an honor student and studied at Long Beach State College.
