A $7.8 million 4Q story skyscraper hotel with 576 rooms and 460 feet height is planned for the Intermarketland development at Chapman Avenue and the Santa Ana Freeway in Orange. Architect drawings were shown to the Orange County Planning Commission which set an Oct 19 hearing on a zone change to permit the project, which would be the county’s tallest structure. USS Hornet returns from a six month Western Pacific deployment and will dock at Pier 2 Long Beach Naval Shipyard at 2 30 pm Saturday. The antisubmarine carrier will stay until November 3 for repairs to gasoline tanks and other equipment.
