California Veterans Tax Exemption Amendment Proposed
A proposed constitutional amendment would curb veteran property tax exemptions in California by limiting the exemption to residents and excluding out of state veterans who move to California after 1964. The plan aims to cut revenue losses, with estimates of 1.7 million dollars in the first year and a statewide personal benefit cap of 2.5 percent. Proponents include Sens. Jones and Begovich and civic groups backing the measure.
