Boy Sees Violence on TV Terrorizes Neighbors

A 14 year old, sleepless after watching Act of Violence, invaded the Kielma home in Niles, using a steel wrench and two ice picks to assault Clarence Kielma and his son Dennis, while Helen Kielma screamed. Police arrested him after a basement entry. The intruder, whose name was withheld, said he could not sleep and acted on the film’s violence. The Kielmas’ wounds were not believed serious. Elaine Kielma, 19, also joined the struggle. The boy was taken to Andy Home for Children in Chicago after questioning by police.
