Harbor City Man and Child Die in Separate Traffic Crashes
Harbor City resident Frank George Moreno and his 5 year old Buena Park friend were killed after being struck on Wardlow Road near Caspian Way. Moreno’s girlfriend Sandra Garduno remained in serious condition. A 44 year old Buena Park driver was not held for drunken driving. In Pomona four youths were booked after a crash with a police unit, resulting in John Wentland’s death.

Man slain over one dollar debt at downtown LA bar
Johnnie Banks, identified, was fatally stabbed after a dispute over a $1 debt at the Truckers Inn bar in downtown Los Angeles. A second man, not named, argued with Banks and was ordered to leave by a bartender. Banks' body was found shortly after.

Santa Ana man dies after head injury in home visit incident
Mario R. Glick, 48, of Santa Ana, died after being struck in the head with a .32 caliber public safety item while visiting Mrs Terri Malkin at 631 S Fairview St Santa Ana. The woman's husband Matthew C. Malkin, 48, is being held at Orange County Medical Center after being found in his laundromat following an abortive attempt.
