New Form to Ease Filing of Income Tax
The IRS introduced Form 1040W to simplify filing for about 17 million taxpayers. The two page form covers wages and salaries plus up to 200 dollars of interest and dividends, with space for deductions and status choices. Other income still requires Form 100, and processing speed may not change. About 59 million forms will be mailed between Christmas and New Year's, with 165 million extra copies printed for distribution.
