Apartment Zone Likely on Roycroft
Long Beach planning commissioners gave preliminary approval to a zoning amendment to allow a major project on the Roycroft Avenue site, clearing the way for a nine bedroom, 75 year old frame mansion to be replaced by a multiple apartment building. The owner Anita Zambrano objected to a four foot widening strip, with other neighborhood property owners backing the rezoning and a group of builders planning a $300000 structure on combined lots. The commission also approved a 2030 lot subdivision for single family homes southwest of Palo Verde Avenue, owned and subdivided by 5 & S Construction Co.
